About Me
Originally from Cowtown (Calgary), Alberta, Canada, and now based in beautiful Vancouver, BC, Imran is a dedicated educator with 25 years of teaching experience. For the past eight years, he has specialized in teaching sign language interpreting courses, equipping students with the skills and cultural competence needed to work effectively with the Deaf community. His work extends beyond the classroom, as he has also provided job coaching and career guidance for Deaf students, helping them navigate their professional paths.
Currently pursuing a Master’s in Social Work at Gallaudet University, Imran is deeply committed to advocacy and social change, particularly in supporting Deaf and Hard of Hearing communities. His passion for fostering meaningful discussions spans a wide range of topics, including current events and social justice.
Beyond his academic and professional endeavors, Imran enjoys traveling—especially by airplane—and discovering new places. He fondly remembers his late dog, Sophie, and now cherishes his time walking and playing with his new puppy, Chico. With a lifelong love for learning, connection, and engagement, Imran continues to shape the future of sign language interpreting education and social work.
