Description
Give your child the opportunity of fun and engaging language enrichment opportunities while building cognitive skills boosting language development. This program is specifically designed to engage children through interactive instruction. Through participation, your child will get an extensive vocabulary in ASL, and build skill and participating in practice sessions. Participants practice ASL signs from the vocabulary in children's storybooks and will learn how to read a book to Deaf children in ASL. All of our instructors are professional signers trained in engaging children in enrichment and are committed to your child’s success. While our Kids’ ASL Courses & Programs are targeted to ages 6-12, all school-age minors are welcome to participate.

Throughout these sessions, students learn hundred of signs and build skills in ASL communication. Topics covered are: the manual alphabet & numbers, greetings & introductions, family & friends, home, school, manners & requests, animals, food, recreation, locations, and more! Kids will engage in age-appropriate activities and games which incorporate ASL vocabulary and Sign Language communication. Additionally, students get a basic introduction and background in the history of American Sign Language and are taught about visual culture and inclusion of people with all abilities.
Structures for the Protection of Minors
All course instructors who have minors registered in their courses, classes, and programs must pass a background check. Safe online practices for participants under the age of 18 are established and will be enforced. All minor participants must be registered by their parent or guardian. All communication must go through a parent (or a guardian). All minors in the registered participants’ household may join the remote Sign Language Class Zoom meeting at no additional cost, as long it is from one single connection. Only children 17 and younger will be allowed to participate in these sessions. No pictures, screenshots, or recordings are allowed. No contact information or other personally identifying information may be shared through the Kids ASL class Zoom session. By registering for a Kids’ ASL Course with ASL Pros you acknowledge you accept and agree to align with these structures for the protection of minors.

ASL Aces

Description
ASL Aces is an ASL Course for teenagers and young people pursuing proficiency in American Sign Language. Participants have access to live ASL instruction-, practice-, and activity- sessions. Contact us to try a class for free.

ASL 1: Participants will be taught over 100 signs and build skills in basic ASL communication including the manual Alphabet & Numbers 0-20, Greetings & Introductions, family & friends, home, school, work, location & movement, grammatical features of facial expressions, & emergency signs. Navigating social interactions in ASL, asking for more information and clarification, showing understanding, vocabulary for commands & requests.

ASL 2: Participants will continue building their ASL vocabulary, learning how to be visually descriptive, convey personality and character, manners and being polite, giving commands and making requests, Numbers 21-100, and fingerspelling technique.

ASL 3: Participants continue to build their ASL vocabulary and receive instruction in conveying location and time of day, shapes and sizes, movement of objects, past present and future tense whispering yelling, and singing.
How it Works
ASL Pros is currently providing all courses and programs remotely due to the COVID-19 pandemic restrictions. Course instruction will take place during a Zoom Meeting and requires a video camera and a reasonably high-speed internet connection. The class Zoom meeting link will be sent to you via email upon completion of purchase and booking.
